We are currently working with Party Poker to see if they really want to lose 20,000 customers.

You mean you lose 20,000 customers. I've already uninstalled your software, and I want a refund. You obvioulsy knew this stuff was going on yet you didn't say anything.

oh blue devil, don't you know, you're just going to get "fired" by prophecy.

hmm... i'm thinking... i'm thinking... how about we start a 2+2 campaign to spam the tables we play at with "don't use pokerprophecy, it is against the T&C of the site, and has the potential for getting your account frozen, banned, siezed, etc."

i love the smell of a shitty company dieing in the morning.

Except their terms are really vague and I had no idea this was against them. I wish party poker would set up a webpage where they would say which software is allowed and which isn't. Also I disagree that they should be able to close my account for something like this. It's not like I'm winning these things because I'm using this software (and I rarely use it at that).

perhaps if you believe you are not being in any way aided in your "winning of these things" by the software, you should not use it?

Citanul,

Quit being an ass. I hardly see how prophecy violates any of those things and how you can say PP woulud be right to close my account. Prophecy isn't collusion. It doesn't play hands for me. And if it gives me any edge at all it's not cheating. Would a real casino take all your chips if you bought another pros notebook detailing players (which would give you much, much more of an edge than prophecy)?

As sthief posted in the Zoo, PokerEdge is another program that is running into trouble. While I doubt anyone in this STT forum would be using it, the common link between prophecy and poker edge is that you are paying for someone else to datamine Party's tables for you.

What will be interesting is to see what they do against PV and GT+. IMO, Pokertracker appears safe as it does not directly have any real-time effect.

Party Poker is not only contacting those people that use our software, but those users who use other poker software also.

So far I have seen in the other thread someone even getting an email from Party Poker for using Poker Tracker which from what I have read does not break there ToS agreement.

I'm sorry if I suggested that 20,000 customers would leave because of Poker Prophecy, I meant to suggest that there is more users then just Poker Prophecy customers getting these letters.

Question: Does this apply to all skins in the Party network, or just Party Poker itself?

FWIW I've gotten my $20-worth out of PP in entertainment so I'm not going to bash them too much. It's just that I'd hate to get my account frozen over the one piece of software that doesn't provide me any useful information.

i have no idea if it applies to skins. you'd have to check in the zoo for that.

my bad blue, i thought i had cut and pasted the part where support specifically talked about screen scraping and layover. you should really look at the ongoing threads in the zoo. party poker has always and probably will always looked down on the use of programs that do things like overlay, as they provide more direct access to information that other players don't have. again, the thing i cut and pasted i thought had the thing about overlay in it. but it didn't.

i'm pretty sure they are well within their boundaries if they choose to sieze your account though. then again, i'm pretty sure they will not wind up doing it.

Here is a quick summary of what I've gathered reading threads over the past few days:

1) A lot of people have gotten "you've been naughty" letters from party and skins, with one exeption...nobody playing on coral/eurobet seems to have gotten one.

2) In almost all cases they were running some combination of PT, PV/GT+ and PokerEdge. Reports are now cropping up about Prophecy also flagging.

3) There have been some postings contianing copies of responses from party/skins saying PT is ok for now, pe is not. There have been a handful of PT is not ok but no confirmations.
