You used position to your advantage. I would have either 3-bet or folded pre-flop because you want to be heads up with this hand.

if i 3 bet i would likely to lose to AK or AQ on the river where as if i just called, i had more leverage post flop.

"if i 3 bet i would likely to lose to AK or AQ on the river where as if i just called, i had more leverage post flop."

So you are saying you knew you were beat preflop but you decided you going to move the better hand postflop. Doesn't sound like a good plan, does it?

i knew i was "likely" behind. i called for a few reasons:

1) i like to play after i post in Cut-Off.
2) i have position on him, in theory, i make $ against him.
3) he is likely to have AK, AQ, AJ, AT, but also KK - 77, which i had outs against.
4) i was getting possible 5.5:1 on the call.
5) i don't like people attacking my "random" hand after I post in Cut-Off.
6) they are on average all "my fishes" anyways.
7) one slight iffy call doesn't matter in the sea of hands i play every hour.
8) a peace of mind is important to me.
9) i can post it if i play it out.

Happy pokering

kenny,

I missed the part that you posted in co. Sorry about that, but maybe you should have explicitly stated that, since it's easy to miss in the conversion. I always seem to misinterpret something in yuor posts, my bad. . . in any case, preflop call is okay given some of your reasons, except for "1) i like to play after i post in Cut-Off." Just make sure you know your opponent, or this could be a bad postflop play. It can be really good too, but a lot of people will call you down with a lot of stuff

1. this is a horrible attitude
2. the "sea of hands" you play every hour is the reason you don't have to post in the cutoff.

I agree. I suffer from this attitude every so often too, and I can't fully shake it. . .

2. the "sea of hands" you play every hour is the reason you don't have to post in the cutoff.

I'm no EV maven, but I like to come in behind when playing 2/3 blinds; in fact, I think it's the right thing to do most of the time. . .

You're probably OK here, unless your opponent has an extensive Pokertracker database on your play, in which case he probably 3-bets you or calls you down with a better ace.
