Insanity check
Opponent is a tight player trying to play solid, quite possibly one of you guys. Over the 170 hands I have on him he's a 19/8/2.3 if you like numbers.
Partypoker 10/20, 5-handed Hero is UTG with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero raises, 2 folds, SB calls, BB folds Flop (5 SB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] SB bets, Hero calls Turn (3.5 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] SB bets, Hero calls River (5.5 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] SB bets, Hero calls Opinions about this? |

Re: Insanity check
If you think he's betting for value, why call all the way?
If you think he's not, why don't you raise? What are your reasoning behind your play? |

Re: Insanity check
I thought the whole point of keeping numbers was so you know what to do with hands like these? Against a random guy hands like these are super annoying, but against a tag can't you just fold the turn? If he has 57s or something stupid, that's life.

Re: Insanity check
What hands could he have that would make me want to fold the turn? I think he very rarely has a 6 here.

Re: Insanity check
low pocket pair, if he's passive preflop (looks like he is) TT-22 A4o A4s A6o A6s, sometimes you can probably add 54s 65s 76s and other suited one gaps

If you think you're ahead why don't you raise to protect your hand?

I don't think I'm ahead most of the time. Do you?

Re: Insanity check
A tight player is either semi-bluffing or betting for value b/c he thinks he's winning right? There's not many semi-bluffing hands he could have, so he probably has a pp, a 4, or maybe a good Ace. Sure every now and then he has 89o or something, but K high is no A high, and on this dry board I'm more likely to give him credit for something. I may be misunderstanding, though, but isn't 19/8 extremely tight for 6max?
