Vieira is one of the very very best players in Premiership history. Will be very tough to replace.

whatever. Aresenal have done nothing but get a rid of their entire midfield over the past year. Now if Sir ALex can just get Malcom Glazer to actually pony up some of the promised poundage then we can actually make a solid attempt for Mikeal Essien. Too bad Van Der Vaart decided to join HSV. I still wonder WTF he was thinking. IK can't see how playing in Germany would help him be the creative force he can be. What's worse, Wenger didn't even get a player out of the deal either. I mean, at least get Maresca or Appiah plus the cash. DOn't expe`t Jermaine Jenas to join Aresenal either, I can't see how Freddy Shepard is gonna let him go after selling a bunch of players already this off season.

This sucks beyond the telling. Vieira may be the greatest defensive midfielder in the history of the Premiership, and off he goes to Turin. He's not replaceable. As an Arsenal fan, I almost would rather have lost Thierry Henry than PV. This is not the way you close the gap between us and Chelsea, Wenger. You'd better have something real good up your sleeve if you're going to be letting your entire midfield run off without a fight. Good thing being an American fan of Arsenal I'm not going to be there to witness the possible implosion firsthand.

As an Arsenal fan, I'll admit that Keane is one of the great leaders in all of team sports. Strictly as a -player-, though, he's a little overrated. I don't think that he has quite Vieira's range of skills.

They should have sold him last year when they had the chance, he is a great payer but has been pretty flat in the last season.

Arsenal are in rebulding phase anyway so probably a good timne to sell and rebuild the midfield talking about the Lyon midfielder being top of Wengers list (not the one chelsea are after).

There might still deals to be done but I cant see past Chelsea winning the title easily again this season.

agreed. they just added SWP and now look to get Essien, this chelsea team is just outright scary. Looks like my ManU and the Arse are gonna be battling out for second. in other bad news for aresenal, Tottenham have jumped in the race to get Baptista from Sevilla. I have to be honest, I like what Spurs have been doing lately and I wouldn't be shocked if they are the surpirse package this year
