Default Hand I just had, big stack to nothing with a flopped underfull

Well first off I normally raise this but I was in a crappy position and there was already a bunch of money in the pot to take if I flopped a set. I had just gotten moved to this table and all I knew about it was that they liked to see flops.

I did try to play this hand cute, which is not my normal style. My gut told me the river killed me but I couldn't bring myself to fold that. I just called the turn hoping he would do exactly what he did on the river. I almost just reraised him a lot on the turn but the part of me that likes to be cute said just call. Is there any way I don't lose a lot of chips on this hand? Fold preflop is all I can think of but I think the call was appropriate. Is this just a stupid beat or did fancy play syndrome really kill me?

Default Re: Hand I just had, big stack to nothing with a flopped boat

Little update I just imploded in this tourney and 15 hands in I had 4.2k in chips.

Had 600 chips guy limps in I raise to 200 at a 50 chip BB, he calls flop comes QTx he goes AI cold. I have 400 left and there is about 900 to win by calling, so I called with my gutshot and two overs. I don't know if that was horrible either but I was really angry about that last hand and I didn't feel like I could do much with 400 chips.

I think you lose this whatever way you play it. The fact that he reraised you on the turn means he's convinced his aces are good and he's not going to put them down.

Fancy Play Syndrome - F.P.S. - nice turn of phrase, I think I have experienced the symptoms: swollen red face and copralalia, usually directed at the monitor, as the fateful card falls on the river.

Yea theres no way I don't lose my chips in this pot now that I look at it I don't know why I posted it other than I was mad and I thought that perhaps my own trickiness might have screwed me. I just got unlucky.

Push the turn.
The fact that he minicheckraised on the turn after you raised the flop + bet the turn means he is committed to the hand for all his chips.
