Default SF Bay Area Omaha and Stud

What are the Omaha and Stud games like in the San Francisco Bay Area? What's the best place to play?

Bay 101 offers Omaha/8 at 4/8; I believe this is a half kill game? Anybody have experience playing this? Last night I saw that there was a must-move list, is this typical?

I see that Bay 101 also offers Stud at 4/8. Is this high/low or high only? What are the antes and bringin? What's the game usually like? It was not running when I was there last night.

What other options are there?

Bay101 O8 is 1/2 kill. Stud is high only.
Garden City has 4/8 stud 8 or better.
Lucky Chances has 4/8 O8 with a half kill.
7 stud is high only (3/6?)
The Grand in Pacheco (sp) has 4/8 O8 with a 1/2 kill.
Casino San Pablo also used to have O8.
The Oaks in Emeryville also has O8. Not sure if 3/6 or 4/8.
The Palace in Haward has O8 - 10/20 (or 20/40)? on Wed. nights.
You can check the respective web sites for more info.
Note that I haven't played since I moved to Oregon, so this info is a few months old.
Good Luck!

O/8 at the Oaks is 4/8, I believe. The Oaks also has Stud: 2/4, 4/8, and maybe higher.

Yeah, Oaks 4/8 is half kill. The 2-4 and 4-8 stud are 50c ante, $1 bringin. San Pablo has 3/6 and 4/8 stud, no Omaha; not sure what the stud structure is.

Also, on occasion (with no obvious regularity), Artichoke Joe's does get a 4/8 half-kill Omaha/8 game going. Once I even saw a second table of it going.

The Bay 101 4/8 O8 with a half kill is an absolute ATM if you have only half an idea what you are doing. On the very rare occasions when you find yourself at the main table with 5 other players with the same idea, just go and play some holdem and rejoin the Omaha list.

Bay 101 was the first area card room I went in a year or so ago: this game was so good that I have never bothered going anywhere else when I visit the west coast.

Thanks for the pointers, guys. I tried out the Stud/8 game at Garden City tonight and had a good time of it. There were two tables running, I didn't have to wait too long to get a seat, and the table I played at was rather loose/passive.

The antes are $1, and so is the bringin. $4 is raked at a full table on 3rd street, so the pot is $5 to start.
