Default Going Card Dead Preflop...

What do you do when all you have done for hours is fold preflop?

Going card dead at the table has happened to me a number of times, and during a full ring game, I can handle it.

However, today was the first time that I'd gone completely card dead during a shorthanded game, and I simply had to sit back and watch the blinds eat away at my stack. I simply got up and left the table after a few hours play (despite the game continuing to be absolutely great). I figure, if there are no cards today, I'll simply comeback tommorrow.

What about you? Do you walk away? Or do you grit your teeth and bear it?

You realize that you have the same odds of getting AA in your next hand today, tomorrow or ten years from now, even if you have gotten 72o every single hand for the last 14,983 and you keep playing at a great game.

If you're card dead and starting to tilt because of it, play some other time. If you get dealt 72o for 14983 hands in a row, you're probably not sitting in a fair game, and I would suggest that you play somewhere else.

live or on-line?

if you're card dead but the game is GREAT be patient. If you think you're tilting because of the bad cards and might get antsy and play crap, go for a walk for an orbit. But if the game is good and you're able to play your best you should still be at the table regardless of how many times you've had to muck preflop.

Also... if stealing blinds is possible, this is probably a good time to do it.
