Default Playing 99/TT to passive?

I have a hard time playing 99/TT. When they don't improve and I have a lot of opponents and high cards on the flop it's an easy fold. I have however a harder time to play them when the flop is 'good', but when there are also a lot of opponents, since i figure they have together a lot of outs against me and they are not going to fold a lot of hands on a flop like this (for a single bet). If someone bets in front of me I would raise.

Example 1:

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, Hero calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, 1 fold, Button calls, 1 fold, BB checks.

Flop: (6.50 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero checks, MP2 checks, MP3 checks, Button checks.

Turn: (3.25 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6 players)
BB bets, UTG+1 folds, Hero raises, MP2 calls, MP3 folds, Button folds, BB calls.

River: (9.25 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, MP2 folds, BB calls.

Final Pot: 11.25 BB

Example 2:

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (8 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is CO with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, MP2 raises, Hero calls, Button calls, 1 fold, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls.

Flop: (12.50 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, MP2 checks, Hero checks, Button checks.

Turn: (6.25 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 players)
BB checks, UTG bets, UTG+1 calls, MP2 folds, Hero raises, Button calls, BB folds, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls.

River: (14.25 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero checks, Button checks.

Final Pot: 14.25 BB

Should I have bet/raised pre flop?
Should I have bet the flop?
Should I have bet the river in example 2?

Hey,

Raise preflop. Bet the flop.

This post should go in the Micro-Limit forum.

Peace,
Gravy

Grunch

Hand 1:
Raise Pre-flop.
Bet Flop.
Turn is good.
River I'm surprised you are not check-raised with a straight or flush but like the bet.

Hand 2
Raise pre-flop.
Bet/raise the flop.
Turn was good.
River, probably should bet but I'm likely to do the same thing because my aggro is so low...

bet those suckers, flop, turn & river. You can't let overcards hang around.

Preflop:

I usually prefer to raise 99 preflop, but limping is not always bad. Generally I would get used to raising this one preflop.

TT is a 3 betting hand I think, especially here when you can buy the button.

You should bet the flop on both hands. That changes the dynamic of both on later streets. Good raise on the turn in hand 2.

What would you do with a lower pocket pair with no overcards on the flop? Say you have 77 and the flop is 2 4 6 rainbow?

Grunch:

I like to mix up 99 by raising some, but not always in EP. Limping can be OK here, but you need to find out where you are quickly - Bet the flop. Rest of hand 1 looks good to me.

Hand 2 - TT is a LP 3 bet pf. Once again, BET THE FLOP. I also bet the riv here.
