Reraising at or near the bubble
General thought, but situation something like
4-6 people left, you and villian around 15BB stacks, villian raises 3 BBs, you come over the top and put him allin. $55s and below - VILLIAN NEVER FOLDS. Just an exaggeration of an observation, not a complaint. I usually have a better hand than villian. |

Re: Reraising at or near the bubble
I don't necessarily agree with your assumption. But I have gone on streaks like this. Obviously you're referring once again to the "reverse gap" principal. Anyway, I've found that this works best when it's four/five (not six) handed, and there is a shorter stack (or two) not in the hand.
Let's be careful not to make any poor decisions here without reads. If we're talking about a tight player, who rarely plays a hand, I'd easily fold, because he likely feels committed to his AJ hand. |

Re: Reraising at or near the bubble
Things do come in streaks. At some point I will look at a bunch of data and try and get close to figuring out what people do.
In the mean time I just thought I'd see what the communities impression was. It seems like most players are calling with hands like A7. |

Re: Reraising at or near the bubble
Well, with regards to streaks, I think a lot of monkeys have learned that bigger stacks sometimes reraise them with trash, so they've "learned" if you will, to call because they are ahead.
Also, I would consider when you're playing. Saturday nights, I agree, they're calling with A7. |

Earlier position just increases the possibility of running into something in later position. |

Re: Reraising at or near the bubble
Actually, as far as bad decisions go, I'm much more concerned that I'm not reraising people enough. Like I said, I usually end up having a better hand.

Re: Reraising at or near the bubble
Yeah, but there are a lot of situations, especially on the bubble where one might reraise someone allin with a weaker hand, assuming that they can only call you with, say QQ-AA. If that were true, then you could reraise with any two cards in many situations.
