[ QUOTE ]
I think someone uninterested should get interested and someone uninformed should get informed and go to the polls and vote.

[/ QUOTE ]

Which is the more likely result of any drive to get more people to the polls?

A) The uninformed will get informed and vote responsibly.

B) The uninformed will vote without bothering to learn about the issues and go home satisfied that they have done the rest of us a favor.

If you chose A, I've got a nice bridge for sale.

[/ QUOTE ]

Just because you know more doesn't make you vote count any more or less.

Voting is a responsibility you have as a citizen of the united states of america. However, if you choose not to fufill your responsiblities to your nation, you have that right. This is symantics and I hate symanitics becaue it takes away from the important issues and boils them down into worthless conversations like this one.

[/ QUOTE ]
Very true.

If you care about issues like this go out and vote for someone that is not anti-gambling.

[/ QUOTE ]

Like who?

[/ QUOTE ]

The far right is anti-gambling so I don't vote for any of them.

If I'm not recalling incorrectly, I think Kerry is anti-gambling too.

Actually I believe he has been quoted that gambling and prostitution is nothing more than a nuisance, like terrorism. So if you like gambling, prostitution and terrorism then Kerry is your man.

You are taking that quote out of context.

The answer is B and sadly what both political parties want to happen.

[ QUOTE ]
I do not live in a battle ground state.

I don't understand the issues very well.

Most of what I 'know' about each candidate is simply propaganda from paid advertisements or spin from the partisans that act as informed guests on all of the nightly shows. It frustrates me enough that I'm not even interested in wading through all of the BS to find the truth.

Yet everywhere I look I see an actor or musician who's suddenly become a political expert telling me to vote. Why should I? Is the country really a better place when people like me vote?

Feel free to give me good reasons to change my mind.

[/ QUOTE ]

You should never vote. Ever.

The germans voted for Hitler once, and look what they got
for it.
