Re: Why is Party Poker stupid enough to allow this?
[ QUOTE ]
If that is too heavy handed, they could do something like only letting you chat as an observer if you had played 1000 real money hands or more on your account and if you spammed, they would ban you. [/ QUOTE ] I think this is a good idea. You have to play a certain amount of hands (it doesn't have to be many and it could even be play money) to have your chat turned on. Spammers won't want to take the time to register an account and play the required number of hands, only to later have their accounts banned when they start spamming. Not to mention they could have funds taken. I think the rule should be you have all chat turned off until you play the hands; not just observer chat. That way spammers cannot sit at open seats and spam. |

Re: Why is Party Poker stupid enough to allow this?
Here is an E-Mail I sent PartyPoker.
I haven't received a reply. [ QUOTE ] Dear PartyPoker: I want to report an incident of spam today in the chat box at one of your tables. This player's chat privileges should be permanently revoked. August 14, 2005, just after 19:14 Eastern Daylight Time (USA) Table 12534 Tournament 14842187 just after hand # 2535630787 The player, DarcySmarcy, placed an advertisement for XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX into the chat box. PartyPoker should not allow this spam for a service that supplies play from hand histories collected by multiple players and traded among them. You should permanently disallow chat by DarcySmarcy and for any new screen names created by this player. Sincerely, XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX PartyPoker screen name: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX |

Re: Why is Party Poker stupid enough to allow this?
I've been playing at UB recently and there is persistant chat spam from some affiliate with a Party sign up code. it boggles the mind that they can't seem to stop something which is directly affecting their bottom line.

Re: Why is Party Poker stupid enough to allow this?
That's what PokerStars do - you need to have the minimum buyin at a table or a certain number of lifetime FPP to use observer chat on a table.
