Is Gordons book any good? My dads friend gave it to him and I said just use it as a coaster and get GSIH.

Start him with some Small Stakes by Ed Miller.

Do NOT let him see Super System until he understands it. Then throw him some Pot limit & NL Limit Hold'em by Ciaffone.

SSI or II.

Theory of Poker, my personal favourite.

If he's reading the SSI stud chapter have him be sure he understands that its a drawing game low stakes baby.
