Default Big Blind hand for review!

Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (8 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is BB with 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP2 raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP2 caps</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: (5.25 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>

River: (7.25 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">MP2 bets</font>, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 9.25 BB

Results in white below: <font color="#FFFFFF">
Hero has 6s Qc (two pair, queens and tens).
MP2 has 3d Tc (three of a kind, tens).
Outcome: MP2 wins 9.25 BB. </font>

Questions:
Should I bet out on this flop?
Am I a moron for 3 betting the flop? (I think I am)
Why should I be surprised when he tables T3o?

I think your line of play is good.
Another one would be to bet and call the flop, bet the turn and fold to a raise (against a passive player, not a player like this).

Against players like this its extremely important that you get a read on them and start taking their money fast. If not they could steal a lot of pots like this from you.

Looking at the size of the pot I think I'd just check/fold the flop. Let this one go to the guy in position, it's not worth fighting for.

After the flop reraise I would have called down. If he wouldn't have bet the turn (and took the free card) I would have bet the river when a non-flushcard nor overcard hit.

Reads would help in this hand immensely. Against a very passive opponent, 3-betting is less of a good idea than against an aggressive opponent.

Top pair, even with no kicker, is a strong hand HU, so 3-betting is probably fine against an unknown, as is calling down once capped.

Looking back on this hand, I tend to agree with the bet and fold to a raise idea with a pot this small.

Not exactly sure what I was thinking here!

How is Hero supposed to get a free turn card out of position and against a flop aggressor?

This type of play is very read dependent. Unless MP1 is ultra passive normally, I wouldn't lay it down. I'd probably call down from MP1's flop raise.

Looking back I have him at my table for 34 hands with a 100% VP$P, and 58.82 PFR! I think I now remember why I 3-bet him.

Ok, so assuming we think top pair HU is good enough to go forward, I think I lean toward a check/raise on the flop rather than leading. You get better information from the response, and it only costs an extra SB.

If you get 3-bet I think you can assume villain has a Q. (And likely has you beat.) If just a call, you might get him to fold by leading the turn. (This villain seems to be a bit too much of a maniac for this outcome, but I think against standard opponents you might have some success.)

I agree. Reads are a necessity in this hand.
