I have NO info on villain...

I thought I was behind, but I was pretty sure he didn't have an ace, and I thought he might fold if he thought he was behind...

Yup, there is very little FE on the turn. Maybe if the board was AT5 or AK7 on the flop I'd bet the turn again. I'm not betting the river.

He's normally calling theriver once he calls the turn. But I don't think you should have even bet the turn.

Betting the river=spewage.

I check the turn and check/fold the river barring an amazing read.

In your case, stab at the flop, then give up.
