i don't understand y u would not have ANY icons on ur desktop? is ur background so important that it cannot be coveredthe ease of shortcuts save a lot of time in the long run. but have fun with start/programs/...

as for my desktop, i have a small corner of to the side with stars, party, pokertacker, and gt+ (at work now, so no image)

I just don't like it all cluttered up, it looks a lot neater this way. I have everything pretty well organized in the Start menu, so it isn't really a pain in the ass at all.

I have all of my poker related icons in a Poker folder on my desktop and have a shortcut to this folder in my QuickLaunch area of the taskbar. This eliminated the clutter and made it easy to get to any of my poker apps no matter what I have open at the moment. I also have a "Not being used" subfolder in the Poker folder for those sites that I don't currently have funded so that the Poker folder does not have too many icons.

I hate clutter.

I hate clutter as well and have done the exact same thing. For a while there I thought I was the only person who did this.

EDIT - I do have my "most-used" poker icon on my desktop to save me some time from going into my "2nd most-used" poker folder.

I have only my computer and the recycle bin on my desktop because I hate all of that garbage too. It just looks awesome with not nearly as much stuff. All of my shortcuts are either in the little quickstart thing on my taskbar or are directly linked when I open my start menu. I also have several shortcut buttons on my multimedia keyboard. Two clicks is the most I am ever making to open almost any program I use daily. I wouldnt say thats too tough.

My desktop is spotless. There is not one single visible icon, not even the recycle bin.

How do you get to your important programs easily? I have 8 icons on my desktop, but I'd like to use a Mac OS/Linux style floating toolbar instead--I don't like the quick launch toolbar.
