Re: risky push for QQ ?
Firstoff, I usually raise to t120 PF, especially if other raises have been that big. I think the push is fine, but AA-QQ are the only hands I would do that with.
what buy-in is this? |

Re: risky push for QQ ?
looks fine, if you flat call you risk getting multiple callers which will make most flops look scary, if you min raise and and ace or king comes, you're potstuck and most likely screwed, so i think push is the best option here ... id usually say a PF re-raise means, AA, KK or sometimes AK, but with the small original raise, the reraise doesnt may not indicate as extreme strength

Re: risky push for QQ ?
Easy, easy push, especially when people show you things like that lovely AJ, and worse.

Re: risky push for QQ ?
Its a risky push, but your options IMO don't include calling ~25% of your stack w/ pocket queens and then hoping for a safe flop. Pushing is much better than mucking here. Looks good.

Re: risky push for QQ ?
Here's my thinking (feedback appreciated)...
What hands am I likely to be facing? My expectation would be anything from AA down to ATo. The possible combinations then are: AA 6 KK 6 AK 16 AQ 8 (since you have 2) AJ 16 AT 16 You are a big favorite against AQ, AJ or AT representing ~59% of the possibles. You are about a coin flip against KK ~23% You are a big dog against AA or KK, ~18% Depending on the limit, that it's early in the tournament, and that your initial raise was small, there's still a non-zero chance that he's playing hands like KJs or KTs. If you simply call, you're probably going to be pushed out of the hand if EITHER an A or K comes. All in all, I would say you have to play your great cards aggressively, especially when you are a favorite against your probable opposition, making a call or fold a mistake. |

[ QUOTE ]
Was a $5 buy in [/ QUOTE ] Then you push approximately 100% of the time. You will be pleasantly surprised to get called by crap such as AJo. |
