Default Poll-Which Sites Do You Prefer For Limit Omaha 8?

I had been playing on Empire with a wonderful Rakeback plan, before Party split and the tables dried up.

I'm considering getting back to Party, but I've also heard that the games are decent at other sites as well. Although I have my reservations about game selection and quantity of games and limits at other sites.

Please feel free to vote for your favorite, profitable sites to play (limits all-inclusive)

What limit do you play? UB has some sweet 2/4 games and AP can have some wild 3/6.

For those selecting other sites, would you care to elaborate about why you like that site over others?

I chose Party Poker because it's what I had the most experience with in the past, having linked through Empire.

The lower limit games I played (3/6 and below) were extremely soft and easy to multi-table, making them profitable and I could play on auto-pilot (yes, I know it isn't necessarily fun, but I'm there to turn a profit, not really derive entertainment value)

I've played a bit on Stars, but they just didn't have the table selection that Party did, nor the rakeback. I can't attest to the others, but I see Absolute Poker is taking a decent chunk of the votes currently.

I see the highest myself playing the future as probably 5/10 or 10/20. I don't know how soft the higher limit games are. I know the live game at Foxwoods Casino, 5/10 with a kill, can be pretty awesome or pretty rocky, depending on when you play (one morning I played they actually got two tables going, although this grumpy old man always had to comment "he's got aces" whenever I raised pre-flop, which was a bit annoying, to say the least, especially since the dealer didn't say anything to him about it). Made it a bit easier to steal from them when the flop was bad for types of hands they would play (i.e. reasonably strong hands). And when it's loose and active, the game is extremely profitable. Had a lady with two pair on a low and paired board capping the bets with me, I scooped a huge pot off her.

I'd be playing 2/4 and 3/6 eventually. My plan right now is to put about $500-$600 into a site and play between 4-6 tables until I'm comfortable enough to play more.

Since Party allows up to 10 tables, that could be really great with *coughrakebackcoughdoesn'texistcough*

I will develop a set plan for my play. I'll choose a specific amount of hours and days per week I'll play, since I consider this a semi-pro venture at the moment. I don't expect it to pay the bills, I have a job that values my contributions and gives me nice raises, and a one-minute commute.

So, with 500-600 starting out, I'd likely play the $0.50/$1, $1/$2 and $2/$4 games. Then I'll set a goal on my bankroll, and when reached I'll add some $3/$6 games and so on. And maybe I'll treat myself to a No Limit tournament from time to time, only allowing myself to play one of them (they can be like crack if you're not careful) and within a specific buy-in amount that doesn't take too much of my bankroll.

If your a quality Omaha 8 player:

NS Poker School, a fledgling poker school is looking for candidates to sponsor
into the world series of poker and players to sponsor online. We are looking for
"quality" players who are consistant winners over time. Sponsored candidates
could receive paid entry to the WSOP, we anticipate our online players being
given paid accounts at sites of their choice where they will split profits with
the school at an 80/20 split with 80% going to the player and 20% going to the
school. Sponsored players agree to promote the school and go through the 2-hour
initial online poker training segment, at the schools expense of course.
Interested candidates can e-mail pokergem123@yahoo.com for furthur information.

Uh, it's "you're" as in "you are" not "your" which implies ownership.

Also, while I consider myself a profitable Omaha hi/lo limit cash game player, playing Omaha hi/lo tournaments is a different beast. I consider myself strong in the following areas:

Tournaments: No Limit Hold 'Em

Cash Games: 7-stud, stud hi/lo and Omaha hi/lo

The last time I played a non-Hold 'Em tourney it was the Foxwoods New England Poker Classic 7-stud $300 buy-in event. 354 players entered, I finished up around 120 from what I recall.

I have returned to Party Poker and begun my multi-tabling foray. There's a link in my profile to my blog, for those interested in more specific details and continuing updates.

As it stands, I started with a $500 bankroll a couple of days ago. I am playing between 4-6 tables at a time in the following limits:

$0.50/$1
$1/$2
$2/$4

I cleared my $100 deposit bonus yesterday and today my bankroll is up $247.15 after 1,145 hands.

Before when I used to play, after 13,700 hands my stats were:

TIGHT/FAIR

Vol Put $ In Pot: 21.16
Won $ At Showdown: 63.79

Now my new account (my previous account was on Empire, this new account is on Party) is:

LOOSE/GOOD

Vol Put $ In Pot: 23.41
Won $ At Showdown: 68.94

Both of my accounts were pretty close to being in the "Good Player" rating. One I was just a few points off on my winnings at showdown, and my new account has a few points above the percentage of hands I play. Not too shabby, I'm quite happy with my results thus far.

Thanks to everyone for their input in the poll.
