Sure, because surely the public schools will refund you the money to send your kid to a private school. After all, they will have one less student, so why would they get to keep the money.

So you believe religion should be taught in science class? Let me ask you, about how old is the earth? 4, 5 thousand years?

Where in my post did I say that I thought religion should be taught in science class?

It is amusing, Tom. People support high taxes to pay for the public schools, then after paying those taxes, most families cannot afford to send their kids to private schools, yet people say, "hey, they are free to choose to do so." That is quite an argument they make.

They take a big chunk of your money so you cannot afford to do something, then say, "Hey, it's still legal to do it." Gee thanks.

Nope. Never said it, either. Don't understand how you inferred I did.

According to scientists, generally speaking, the earth is somewhere between 4 and 5 billion years old.

He didn't ask "according to scientists".

He asked according to YOU.

Answer the question.

Yes, sir, Yes, sir. I'll just get out my handy-dandy science tool box and get me a few readings and put together some charts and graphs and a PowerPoint presentation for you.

Ooooops. I just remembered something. I don't have any of that stuff.

So, I'm still stuck with accepting what I've read. And believing the folks who publish their own findings know what the hell they're talking about.

Is that enough answer? Is that acceptable to YOU?

Draw that all by yourself, didj'ya? They let you have a lot of pencils and paper to draw on where you stay? Too bad you didn't use your crayolas. Would have made it all pertty-er.

Generally, I hope that ID can be a part of public school's education. I don't think it should be taught in science classes, however. Perhaps if it could be offered in another class, I am not sure of the type of class it would have to be.

This has a lot to do with the issue of seperation of church and state, obviously. IMO, the constitution and the basic foundations of our government are based on religious (re:christian) ideals. (once again: IMO,) our government is based on tolerating other religions and beliefs, not creating a secular culture. The seperation of church and state was created to stop leaders from forcing a citizen to believe a certain way, with punishment due if they didn't. That is not what would happen if ID was taught in public schools. No one is making you believe it. Is it really hurting you to hear it though?
