Default An Interesting read that changed my mind on something....

I read Second Treatise, Of Civial Government by John Locke today which really got me thinking. I might have been wrong on my views of eminent domain (which I previously supported). Maybe I shoud start reading more of his stuff, no politics involved in his writtings

In which way did you support it? The right of government to seize land or the new case in which businesses can seize land?

You might want to read "Takings", subtitled "Private Property and the Power of Eminent Domain" by Richard Epstein. Libertarian view, and history of eminent domain law complete with SCOTUS decisions and analysis. Out of print - try Amazon, or I can get you a copy.

Are you still for government seizing land or have you changed on that as well? (That is, if you were for it before)

One thing I like about locke is that his views are not political at all, books written now are so full of politics that you can't really get an "unbaised" view of something.

His views are not political, but our politics are based on his views...or a corruption thereof(life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness came from his life, liberty, and property).

Agreed. Epstein is a law professor -- more of a historical, ethical, legal view than political. I would compare his style to Hernando De Soto.
