Lost word document

so a word document that had about 10 hours of work from yesterday seems to be gone. I am ultra paranoid about saving every like 2 minutes and i have no idea how i screwed this up. is there anyway to recover old stuff from like word recovered files or something? this is killing me

I use this File recovery for XP Its free and it works

If it crashed inside word, it should reopen a recovery file the next time you open microsoft word.

If it crashed due to windows, the best you can get is your most recent saved file.

If your most recent saved file is not there for some reason, try to do a system restore, if you are using windows XP.

With all this being said, one other likely option is that you saved it in some other directory that you did not intend to save it. So, try the find files options to see if you accidently saved it somewhere else.
