Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (12/21) (50/100 NL with Phil La
[ QUOTE ]
Anyone notice how "solid" phil laak is... folding to a reraise preflop with AQos from ed, hasn't even played a hand in like 4-5 orbits... edit: this was posted before bart made this point [/ QUOTE ] Phil is very parient. He seems to be waiting to pick his spot and pounce. Thus far, I like his play--he avoids marginal hands and does not put himself at risk. |

Looks like he's going to avoid this one. Although you gotta wonder if JRB would just move in with a king here. Kinda odd play.
Nice call PL. And beaten. |

What a tough call, I don't think I'd call that bet.
Either way, Jean Robert made a gutsy move with the nut draw and an ace so even if he gets called, which he did, it's not like he's drawing dead. He's got 12 outs. Times two. Tough spot for both players but I think Jean Robert played it well considering he put Phil to the test. |

Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (12/21) (50/100 NL with Phil La
Wow, My respect for JRB has gone up infinite times. What a great play by him.
It doesn't matter that PL called him on his semi-bluff, JRB isn't behind that far against 99-QQ Board: Kh 7h 3s Dead: equity (%) win (%) tie (%) Hand 1: 43.9899 % 43.99% 00.00% { Ah8h } Hand 2: 56.0101 % 56.01% 00.00% { QQ-99 } Even if PL NEVER folds, JRB still made the correct play due to the 3K already in the pot, so basically he's putting in 8k to win 11k (roughly, 1.375 to 1 odds) on a 1.27 to 1 dog. So great play by JRB. |

Re: \"Official\" Live at the Bike thread (12/21) (50/100 NL with Phil La
This is with PL having TP/Set/AA
equity (%) win (%) tie (%) Hand 1: 40.1321 % 40.13% 00.00% { Ah8h } Hand 2: 59.8679 % 59.87% 00.00% { 99+, AKs, AKo } So, yeah... only play there is, is all-in. |
