Default Empire Selective Connectivity.

Tonight, I was disconnected from two tables, but two other tables were fine.

It's strange to see "Connection lost. Trying to reconnect..." on two tables and "Connection is very good." on two others.

Any ideas?

Basically the tables run on different clusters. This means that one cluster can go down while others are up. Each cluster holds x tables, where x is some number i don't know.

Could this explain why my disconnect protect failed to work?

Yes. However, check your email. I got an email saying my buyin before the hand started was sent to me. If you have a partial hand history prior to the crash maybe you can get more, otherwise, you at least didn't lose money on the hand when the table server went down.

Just recieved an email from party explaining the situation.

We apologize for the disruption you encountered at 'Table 37574' table on 04/11/2005.

Our records indicate that you had $42.95 at the start of that game. As a result of the disruption, that game has been construed as a 'misdeal' and we have refunded the money back to your Account.

Problem solved!
