One needs to sit with at least 12BB's to enable full potential with any given hand, correct?

I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything but I believe the most you can spend on one hand is 12BB's.

When I play 1/2 If I dip below $24, I will throw some more money in there.

I know this is very low content but I want to make sure i'm right, and maybe other players out there fail to remember to top off when they dip below this number.

4 small bets preflop + 4 small bets on the flop = 4BB
4BB on turn
4BB on river
