Re: Stillman\'s play on the pocket deuces!
I think he played the 2s very well and just ran into a donk who couldn't fold.

Re: Stillman\'s play on the pocket deuces!
Or maybe he didn't think he was beat? If I was playing with a very aggressive Stillman I wouldn't give him credit for AQ or whatever he was representing.

Re: Stillman\'s play on the pocket deuces!
[ QUOTE ]
I agree, I don't think his play was THAT bad. It was his whining afterwards was what was annoying. I mean, he's going on and on about how horrible he was to have called preflop with ATo. Would it have made him feel better if he turned over AKs or QQ? When you go all-in with 22 on a AQx board after a preflop raise and you expect your opponent to have a hand better than ATo, you're beating exactly nothing. His only real hope was to make a better hand fold. If he wanted to risk his tournament on that bluff, it's a gutsy move, but he shouldn't berate his opponent when it doesn't work. Whether he had ATo or AA is irrelevant at that point. [/ QUOTE ] I wish Kessler turned over 33. |

He reminded me of "Ducky" the FBI agent from The Sopranos.... [/ QUOTE ] Yep, that same guy also played Edgar Stiles on "24": |

Re: Stillman\'s play on the pocket deuces!
[ QUOTE ]
Overplaying small pocket pairs like that is a standard move for small $$ online players. [/ QUOTE ] Stillman is NOT a small $$ online player. He plays a lot of live in A.C. and NYC clubs and he normally plays $5-5 NL with no capped buy-in or mid-high stakes limit (I'm not positive about that last part, just going from recollection). He's not some idiot noob and is actually a somewhat decent player based on my impression of him in three different sessions. With that said, he's still a jackass. |

Re: Stillman\'s play on the pocket deuces!
[ QUOTE ]
The big oafs mistake was going all in on the flop after the Ace hits. His reraise with 22 is a pretty good chip accumulating play. [/ QUOTE ] Bingo! That's it exactly. |

[ QUOTE ] but if he did he would have felt like an idiot for acting like a jerk. [/ QUOTE ] you obviously don't know our friend Joe. Hes the kind of guy after hitting the deuce would pants the guy and smack in the ass on the way out the door...hes all man... [/ QUOTE ] Nothing says all man like pulling a guy's pants down and touching his ass. |

Re: Stillman\'s play on the pocket deuces!
From TV, which is not much, it looks as if Stillman is eager for a fold. If I felt the way I did watching Stillman on TV I call his bet with a pair of Queens or better (flop was AQ7r, I think). But I do caution, I was not there.

Re: Stillman\'s play on the pocket deuces!
Good evidence for this was early on he called a rather large raise with K9s (against Chris Ferguon's AA). Stillman got two pair, then was counterfeited and didn't realize it. I hope Stillman will give up his side of all this and what we did not see.
Again, I only see what the TV tells me. |
