A bet of 7k-8k would be my play to push him off that missed flush draw. The way it went down I don't think too many hands are bluff-raising this river.

If he plays well, he knows the rivered Queen did not help you. If thats the case if he has the nut flush draw you need to bet enough to fold his ace. If he thinks you have overcards, he will call you with a pair.

Did this guy play like a donk? If he isnt considering what you have, then I cannot see betting. He will still payoff. Do you have anyline on this guys play? Would he play AJ this passively? Would he call you down with a hand like 99 or 88? I played a hand last night where the villian had JJ and I had 1010. I acted like the aggressor

You already put 9700 into this pot. The pot has grown to 19400. I would make a bet of T6500 on the river to see if I can steal. Him calling the T5000 would concern me a bit, however the play is to bet.

I feel uncomfortable firing the third barrel in these spots. However, with betting 1/3 the pot, this play will win enough of the time that a player with a solid image should make this bet.

He doesn't seem to be a terribly bad player, just likes to call my raises lol. I don't think he would have played AJ, KJ, 99, or 88 like this. I put him 100% on hearts and wanted him to fold A or K high, do you think 6500 is enough to make him fold that?

Considering his stack size id say 6500 should be enough to make him fold, however this is just slighty more than what you bet on the turn. I probably bet around 11K

Did you consider trying to checkraise on the turn? (I might try this)

Yes, in that spot I fire the third barrel and bet between 6000-8000. I will bet anywhere in the middle. I doubt he will call getting 3-1 for his money on just high card. If he lost T6500 more, he would get crippled.

Default results

Anyways, I bet 10k and he folded... I wasn't going to post results b/c they are extremely unimportant, but I just won this tournament about 15 minutes ago and I feel like bragging.

Alright, so we got a passive player and 4200 in the pot. I put him on a lot of different hands, and by the sound of it you did too.

Pretty standard bet, about 2/3 the pot. If he has the flush draw, he calls here being passive, if he has top pair, he calls here, being passive. He hasn't raised you post-flop yet has he? So I wouldn't see him raising with any holding here.

9800k in the pot, you bet 5000. If he has A-10 of hearts he has 9+ what he thinks is 7 more outs at least, so 16 outs, getting those odds, he would have to call. If not on the flush draw, and still owning a jack, he's calling here no matter what.

Well, quite a sticky situation. He's been extremely passive thus far, but you don't want to check here and let his ace high with the busted flush draw beat you. He's invested 10k into this pot (more or less) and he won't want to commit more with ace-high IMO. I think that if you bet 9000 here it would be enough that you won't be in horrible shape if he calls but I don't think he'll call over 1/3 of his remaining stack with ace-high.

That would be my play, looking forward to seeing how you did.

Brad
