Bounty Tournament Idea
MTT Tournament Format Idea
i.e. $5+.05 buy-in Standard starting chips and blind structure. There is no prize payout table. When you eliminate someone, you get their $5 buy in and their chips and continue playing. Play continues until all players (except 1) are eliminated. Perhaps you also get 10% of whatever bounties they have 'collected'. I would have to do some trial and error maths to see if this makes sense. Technically, whoever took first wouldn't necessarily win the most money. It's just a silly idea. Thoughts? |

Re: Bounty Tournament Idea
Im pondering a headhunter event where buy in is, say, $10 where 80-90% would form a normal prize pool and the other 10-20% would be won by knocking that guy out.
i considered having it solely paying out by knocking out other guys, but i think it would create a weird balance to the game where the 'winner' can effectively break even in the event. By having a mix and match you also have unique equity situations presented to you - basicly each all in is worth more so checking people down to knock them out is a good example of how standardised strategy has to change. As you can probably tell, im still thinking it through. Phill |

Re: Bounty Tournament Idea
I think that sounds pretty fun actually. Or jsut make $4 go to bounty and $1 go to last man standing prize pool. I'm envisioning a mass tourney with bounties, rebuys, mixed games, last longers, add-ons, and every other possible option. Sweeeet.

Re: Bounty Tournament Idea
I like it, but probably on a smaller scale - say 50% to the payout structure & 50% as bounty.
The 10% of whoever you knock out is just cruel - so I quite like that too. I can imagine seeing numbers on the screen next to everybody's name saying how many people they have busted. It would get complicated pretty soon though as when somebody busts you after you have busted several people they should get 10% of the 10%'s you got for busting. Maybe it'd be better to bank that 10% and just get 10% of however many people they have busted. I can't see this ever happening though. |

Re: Bounty Tournament Idea
Jet Set Poker run HeadHunter tournaments - 50% goes to the prize pool 50% to the bounties - those who have previously done well in the tournies have a higher bounty than newbies - and no this isn't spam - I don't give a toss whether you play there or not!

Re: Bounty Tournament Idea
When to isolation-push gets tricker as well. In B&M bounty tourneys I've overpushed with 62o (having the biggest stack at the table) just to prevent anyone else from getting a microstack's bounty. But of course this entails some risk of running into a real hand, or a donk who calls with something he shouldn't but nonetheless probably has me killed.

Re: Bounty Tournament Idea
I like this idea, the fun of MTT without the extremely high variance.
