Default New to $2/4 are 20BB swings common?

I recently started playing $2/4 at party and I was wondering if swings of 20BBs are common or am I just playing badly?

20 big bets is nothing at all. If that amount is a concern to you, you might be playing above your bankroll (or psychological bankroll).

They are quite common. I play 2-4 and always keep $1,000 in my Party account -- I've had swings of +/- 150BB over the course of a week at least ten times (I play about 10 hours/week, 2 tables). Just to give an example, in a 5 minute stretch yesterday I had aces full beaten by quads (-12bb) and then had an opponent make quad threes in 4 cards against my rolled sixes. I filled fifth and we capped all three of the last streets. (Okay I may have overplayed sixth). I'm pleased to report I hit the case six on the river and was +15bb or so for that hand, but I could easily have missed and been -25bb in just those two hands.

I've lost 50BB in 10 minutes. Those swings are common, so no biggie.

My worst run I think is -35 bb in 8 mins 1 tabling.

I win 15 BB's every time I play this game. Tighten up and learn how to fold when you know you're beat.

Yea, I just lost 30BB in three hands. Queens full versus Aces full, Aces-up versus Aces-up, can’t remember the third one. I’m down 17 BB right now, but the table is great.

In Stud/8 swings can be huge. No 20BB is not uncommon. Sometimes antes and B.I.'s can cost you 5BB before you cash one in. It can just a rough game at times. Good luck!
