DSL - Help Please
I finally made the switch from dial up to DSL about 2 weeks ago. I'm a techno caveman.
Everytime someone answers the phone or the answering machine picks up, I lose my internet connection. It just cuts me off, usually while I am 3 or 4 tabling. Anyone ever have this problem? How do I resolve it? |

Re: DSL - Help Please
Did you put the filter things on your phone lines?
Try calling your DSL provider. If this is happening it's probably a screwup on their part that they should fix. |

Re: DSL - Help Please
Have to make sure you have the filters on every phone line in the house (including any answering machines). I had DSL and it sucked, hope u have better luck.

[/ QUOTE ] You don't have a filter between your DSL modem and the jack, right? If you do, change it. The filters are for the phone lines, the line that your DSL modem connects too is the only one that shouldn't be filtered. |

Re: DSL - Help Please
As posted above, try the filters if you haven't already.
If you've got the filters then call your phone company and ask them if you have an MTU (Maintenance Test Unit) on your line. If you do then this is almost certainly your problem. Tell them it is screwing up your DSL and have them remove it. |
