Re: 77 Say When
If he is a somewhat thinking player he knows that you will not call 2 cold preflop with A7 or A9. But a hand like 99 makes perfect sense. And he isnt very aggressive. Why would he cap turn with AQ when there is no chance he is ahead?
I guess you have to call turn and river and hope he really got out of line with that cap or that you hit your 1 outer and can get 3-4bets more out of him. |

Re: 77 Say When
he's getting 7.5-2, so either you need to find the difference in BB's, or just change the 10-1 to 20-2. so 20-7.5 = 12.5 SB, or 10-3.75 = 6.25 BB
that's where paying multiple bets screws you. 6.25 SB would be easy. 6.25 BB means that at least you're putting in half that at 3.1 BB (since you have 2 opponents best case they both put in 3.1 BB), so the final pot would have to be the preflop size of 4.75 BB plus the implied odds of 6.25 plus your 3.1 BB for a total of 14.1 BB. so you'd need the final pot to be at LEAST 14.1 BB (and probably more like 15 on average) for you to be able to play it for set value. |

Re: 77 Say When
When you decided to stop and go you didn't really expect this guy to raise the turn did you? I guess you were trying to trap MP into calling you down as well as button?

Re: 77 Say When
yeah I use that flop-turn play whenever I have an invulnerable hand. it works great. I was watching 100/200 before for a little while and saw a guy use it to perfection
EP raise, EP 3-bettor, he calls in the BB with Q8s for some reason. flop 988. he check-raises, EP folds, 3-bettor 3-bets again, he calls. he bets a blank river. at this point I didn't realize he was loose so I had him on JJ/TT, 3-bettor raises his obvious overpair which he has to think his good, now BB 3-bets it. beautiful |

Re: 77 Say When
I don't use this line enough.
When I have used it the PFR doesn't raise the flop so I end up just betting every street (anecdotal of course). |

Re: 77 Say When
no this is wrong. A lot of people make this error. If you are getting 7.5:2 the odds of flopping a set are 15:2. Therefore you need to make up 7.5BB. You can't reduce the 7.5:2 to 3.5:1 because the units are 2BB.
EDIT: Nevermind. As sthief pointed out Kurosh did it right. It is 7.5 sb which you need to make up, which is basically 3.5 BB like Kurosh said. Sorry for tue confusion. People do make this error often though and would say that he would need to make up 3.5sb instead of 7.5 |
