That's what I heard as well. Most people say that it was an isolated incident where he was trying to help a friend of a friend.

Whether that's true or not I obviously have no idea. My guess would be that if he's only in for something less than a year it wasn't a huge buy.

he's supposed to be getting out this month

That's great. I hope he does well...as long as he chills out a tad.

As for the Aruba WPT, he suffered a horrible beat (don't recall the cards) and his little outburst wasn't too bad in my recollection, but we'll see how it plays on TV. I ran into Mike Sexton that night and he said he felt bad about how Matusow went out, so I'll be interested to hear the commentary.

[/ QUOTE ]

Regardless of how he got beat, it doesn't warrant jumping out of his chair yelling and screaming.

[/ QUOTE ]
Well, I'll withhold further judgement until I see it again on TV, but I was there and it didn't strike me as out of line at the time.

I just hope his stint in the hoosegow didn't change the significance of his nickname.

From what his brother reported on RGP, he was actually acting as a middleman from a dealer to a buyer (who turned out to be a cop) and got caught up in a mess.

[/ QUOTE ]

LOL Great post! acting as a middleman from a dealer to a buyer = DEALING DRUGS. I am am not a garbage man, I act as middle man between your discarded refuse and the city dump. LOL

Mike is a very loud personality and loves to have a good time. He did take a terrible beat down in Aruba, but he also sucks a pretty good one out himself if I recall. Makes 2 pair on the river I think. Such is cards.

Wait till you see the final hand in this tourney.

But yes, Mike is as normal as the next guy, and TV does a fine job of getting people to watch by portraying him as a wild loud player. Early in the tournament he was the same as you'll see at this final. Very loud, and very animated. All things considered, still a great guy from my perspective.

From the post party in Aruba.

I went to Aruba expecting to hate him, but the few times I talked to him, he was a nice guy. Very open about what he's thinking, like, absolutely zero internal censor.
