Quick Question on Windows Task Manager

Can someone direct me to a website that lists what all those processes are that are running in the background on my PC and shown in Task Manager? I'd like to know which ones to disable to conserve resources for my crappy PC and which ones to get rid of altogether...

Just search for the exact process name on Google. Usually the first result will describe the process.

Many of the processes are "services". When I set up my machine two years ago there was a guy who posted under "Black Viper" who apparently was the expert on disabling un-needed services. A Google search indicated his site is down but someone posted this link.
