FBI: Newsweek Was Right

[ QUOTE ] "Personally, he has nothing against the United States. The guards in the detention facility do not treat him well. Their behavior is bad. About five months ago, the guards beat the detainees. They flushed a Koran in the toilet," the FBI agent wrote. "The guards dance around when the detainees are trying to pray. The guards still do these things," the FBI agent wrote. [/ QUOTE ] http://www.boston.com/news/nation/ar...e_allegations/ [ QUOTE ] The once-secret FBI documents show a consistency to the allegations and are the first indication that Justice and Defense department officials were aware in early 2002 that detainees were accusing their guards of mistreating the holy book. [/ QUOTE ] Newsweek never did make a mistake. Their source just didn't have the balls to stand up to the White House. But then, when a White House is willing to politically edit reports on things even as serious as global warming, I don't really know if I blame him. The whole Newsweek debacle looks suspiciously like the source didn't have a copy, and confirmations of abuse were edited out after the story broke. |
