Default here\'s an example of what should\'ve been an easy fold...

villian 40/4 after not enough hands and I figured he was betting into a draw on flop and on turn that I could imply the rest of his stack($59) if I made a flush. BB is Villain.

No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

UTG ($98)
UTG+1 ($116.40)
UTG+2 ($98.50)
MP1 ($67.85)
MP2 ($99)
MP3 ($96.75)
CO ($100)
Hero ($100)
SB ($94.50)
BB ($100.90)

Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $1. SB posts a blind of $0.50.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls $1, 1 fold, MP1 calls $1, 2 folds, CO (poster) checks, Hero calls $1, 1 fold, BB checks.

Flop: ($5.50) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players)
BB bets $3, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, CO folds, Hero raises to $12, BB calls $9.

Turn: ($29.50) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
BB bets $25.

If he has the flush I have 7 outs to my K high flush which is probably good given how much he bet on the turn-it looked like he was protecting(the point here tho is that I didn't have a standard 9 out flush draw as I read him as having a flush so I needed 5.6:1 instead of 4.2:1. Only other possiblity imo is that he has a Q and is bluffing the scare card but I didn't really think so.

I stupidly called, hit on the river and lost my stack to a str8 flush-he pushed oop probably hoping I had the A or K high flush.

edit: I think what contributed to my bad play here is that I had the top of an inside str8 draw so considered that if I'm against 2 pair or so instead of a flush I have 3 more outs.

fold pf

lots of limpress + 1 pair hand = reverse implied odds

I don't like your raise on the flop. there's no reason to bloat the pot here. he's probably not semibluffing into five people (if he's even that tricky), so you probably don't have to worry about draws. sometimes, but usually not.

as played I would expect this to be a set, two pair, or some hand that's better than yours and is afraid of the flush/straight. you have 12 good outs for a win, maybe another 5, and big stacks. I call the turn and probably fold the river unimproved.

I call this, but look for something better than top pair, second kicker.

I don't consider losing to a straight flush to be a bad thing.

If he has you beat with an A-high flush, you lose your stack when you get there. If he has you beat with a lower flush, he won't pay off that much when you get there (as it just takes your K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]) to beat him. If you don't improve, you don't win the pot. Yea, fold this turn.

I probably just call the flop bet too. With this coordinated of a board, you really never know where you stand, and I don't want to build up a big pot if I don't know where I stand.
