Default HE Royal against a madman

Normally when I play Royal HU I play any 2 cards.
Seems to work fine.

I just played against a total madman and he mangled me completley.

He raised PF EVERY hand - and I mean EVERY.
NEVER folded the flop.
Only folded the turn twice (in 33 hands that got that far)
Never folded the river.

He managed to take 22 BB off of me in the space of about 50 hands.

One mistake he did make: When I sat out for a bit he called me a wussy. Bet he was cursing himself when I left.

So, how are you playing against this guy.

Just waiting for big hands won't cut it here since it is HU and the blinds are going to eat up the money real quick.

HU against a maniac is an easy way to bleed your bankroll. I strongly recommend leaving the table.

If you must play:

1)get to SD cheaply with King high or better.
2)Call every raise preflop
3) never raise yourself preflop
4) wait until turn to raise your big holdings
5) middle pair decent kicker is a big holding

I think he was talking about Royal Hold'em on UB. I'm not too familar with the game but I don't think your strategy will work all that well. OP, I suggest posting your question in Other Poker.

If you're talking about Royal HE on Ultimate Bet you might want to post this in the Other Poker forum.

I'm pretty sure there's a way to beat someone who raises every hand and doesn't fold.

Without ever having actually played this game, I'm going to guess:

Pre-flop: Cap with AK/AA/KK/QQ, call with everything else except maybe TJ

Flop, Turn: Cap any sets or two-pairs, call with everything else

River: Cap any boats, call with everything else

Royal Hold 'em, what a crazy idea! I bet you could make a killing off it for now. I don't have time to take advantage of it but hopefully it'll still be hot after xmas.
