Re: Caught in an act of Larceny. Own up of the flop?
Yep, you are in bad position here, you are going to have to check and fold if you don't hit something big. You raised, so if you bet on a rag flop it will look like a bluff (unless you have the balls to represent a pocket pair) and a big flop will probally hit him and you so you are stuck.

fold unless i hit the flop. If their hand is good enough to call 300, it's going to be beating yours on the flop. If he looks weak you could try to go for another stab if the board doesn't look like it hit him, and you think he will fold.

Yep hope to hit something and fold if I don't.
This might be a leak for me as I would've folded that hand. |

Re: Caught in an act of Larceny. Own up of the flop?
When buttons cold-call your raise, that's a bad sign...Get out. If an A hits, you CAN make a smallish bet and HOPE they fold. I find that a lot of times my random steals get folds on an A flop. Don't bother bluffing turn though...if you get called.

You are all right. I lost 600 more chips trying to push him off QQ.

Re: RESULTS
A better solution to this dilemna is to not steal with Q5s in this situation preflop. Once you do steal and get called by the BB, I will bet the flop a good portion of the time (approximately 400-450), depending on how it looks. If it comes Ace high I'll practically always bet, King high usually as well. They should fold on the flop over 50% of the time regardless of what it is. |
