Re: Top two doo doo?
14/5 Ag=1 will not bet KQ/QJ/QT/98. He does not have any of these hands.

Re: Top two doo doo?
Ignore the outcome. Think of all the situations where you are ahead and you are behind. You are ahead a lot more of the time than you are behind. You do not want to let your opponent off easy by 3betting preflop.
I don't think I ever want to raise so that I can get away from a hand, or at least, very rarely. This concept seems troubling to me. Can anyone with more experience talk about this? |

Re: Top two doo doo?
Limped pot, and you got reraised. Easy fold with his stats. Those are pretty close to my stats and you're going to run up against TT/77 most of the time here, maaaaaaaaybe AT, definitely not A7.
Since it's a limped pot, I kinda like calling the flop when he bets out that strong. What's the saying again? Don't go broke in an unraised pot...? |

Re: Top two doo doo?
Are we only not raising because of his stats? I understand what you are saying about losing the least... but the part about making more money from his AK does not make sense to me. I don't like the idea of paying a lot for information either... but calling all three streets seems weird to me.

Re: Top two doo doo?
If he has a big ace, especially AQ/AJ he will be worried about you having AK or better, meaning he will fold hands you want him to call you with if you raise. If you just call, you can bet the turn when he checks to you, or go for the raise there if you make him for just AK....

Re: Top two doo doo?
Do you think someone with those stats is 3-betting AJ? How would you play AJ in his position assuming you limped?
Like I said... I think paying for info sucks... but if we can clear out the field and get off of this hand right here instead of having to invest in a turn bet/raise that doesn't sound all bad to me. |

Re: Top two doo doo?
I think the chances of him having AJ or even AQ are slim to none. I seriously doubt villian would 3-bet AK after it being a limped pot there.
I probably would have called the flop but at the very least, if you raise him and get reraised then you've paid for information and got it, now use it and fold! |

Re: Top two doo doo?
No, as action stands, I realize he is not 3betting wtih AK/Q/J.
