I'm not aware of any New Orleans card rooms-- even though there must be SOMEthing since there was a WSOP circuit event there-- but he could always hop in the car and drive to Biloxi. It's a pretty short trip. I would suggest the Grand or the Palace in Biloxi if he's looking for poker.

[Edit: Duh... there's Harrah's in New Orleans. Go with that.]

i think there is very little chance that there will be ANYONE playing at Harrah's New Orleans for the next couple of weeks (at least).

Those who have been to New Orleans before can easily see how vulnerable the city and the buildings are.

We have at least a handful of 2+2'ers in New Orleans and Biolxi so certainly I think our thoughts and hopes should be with them.
Hopefully they have evacuated by now.
But just getting out of the way and saving your own skin does NOT mean you will actually have something still standing to come home too.

Hope all works out okay 2+2'ers.

lousiana casinos id like crazy! crazy i tell you.. so do biloxi ones.. compared to vegas - where you walk right in and kids can actually play the slots for a minute or two till getting caught - in lousiana and mississippi there is a guard who stares everyone down entering the casino floor.
so i'd say a no go in the deep south ... deep south sucks anyway

There will probably be an abundance of fish at the tables though.
