Default Need Advice on NL Tourny Structure...

Hey, me and some friends hold NL Hold 'em tournies usually twice a month with about 6-8 guys, but this week we are trying to get more people to come since we have off of school. We're hoping to get around 15 total.

What we normally have done is a structure like this, which lasted about 4 hours:

Start with T500

Blinds go up whenever people start complaining (haha, we really need to get a timer or something, I think usually about 20-30 mins)

SB/BB
5/10
10/20
15/30
20/40
25/50
30/60
40/80
50/100
(something close to that, I don't think we ever made a set structure)

Since we are going to be having more people than normal, what would a good structure be? We need to finish in about 5-6 hours. Our old structure has been working ok, but I know some of you probably have your structures nailed down, and I'd definately like any advice.

T7500 in total chips, your tourney should come end when the blinds are somewhere in the 125/250 or 200/400 range (5-10% of the total chips as blinds)

I'd add a starting T2/5 level, drop the 25/50 and 40/80, and add these levels at the end:

T75/150
T100/200
T150/300
T200/400
T300/600

If the rounds are 20 minutes, the tourney goes for 3 hours. 30 minutes, 5 1/2-6 hours at worst

Whatever you end up doing, let us know how it turns out.

Ok well the tourny was a success! It lasted a little longer than we hoped, but it definately worked well. For the next time we play, we will make a few adjustment and I think everything will be smooth. This is what we ended up doing:

T500

Blinds go up every 30 mins

SB/BB
5/10
10/20
15/30
20/40
30/60
40/80
50/100
75/150
100/200
125/250
150/300
200/400
300/600

You were right Larry, we did need to get rid of a few of the limits. At the end, the limits did not increase enough each time and it took a while for the last 4 people to finish. Up till then everything seemed to work well. Next time we are going to try this:

T500

Blinds go up every 25 mins

SB/BB
5/10
10/20
15/30
20/40
30/60
50/100
75/150
100/200
150/300
200/400
300/600

I think this will work well. Thanks for the advice. =D
