Default Running bad or playing bad... Please help

Typical hand where I don't know if I'm running bad or playing bad.

Me- Tight aggressive on the button.

The "Pro" - excellent player that I'm familiar with... pretty straight up doesn't make many overcall or pre-flop mistakes.

Me A A

Three limpers in $500 max N.L. game 5 & 5 blinds... I make it $60 to go ($25 in the pot)

Board 10 10 6

Check to me... I bet $100

Small blind min-raises $200 (I know for a fact this does not represent a 10... I've played with him to often).

I re-raise to $400 ... he smooth calls... now I'm worried about pocket 66's only. More realistic I think he has JJ or QQ.

Turn 8

he checks... I move all in for my last $250... he calls with Pocket 8's for a turned boat.

I don't fill up... he wins.

Ironically... I was so positive on my read that he also had a big pair... if a Q, K, J comes on the turn or river and he moves all in... I probably fold

Which of the players called your preflop raise?

No matter how 'sure' you are of your big pair read, you cannot fold the turn when he pushes a J,Q,K getting 2-1 on your money. When he pushes a J, he could have QQ/KK. When he pushes a Q he could have JJ/KK, etc.

You played it fine. Stop posting bad beat stories.

fair enough... i just feel like the biggest flaw in my game is with big pairs...

I feel I don't play them fast enough sometimes... and other times I play them too fast.

I feel I have a strong game playing everything else... suited connectors, small pairs, suited aces and broadway cards.

Big pairs are my nemesis.

OK... OK... I get it...

My question still stands... Ironically I feel my -EV hands are with big pairs.

I really feel I maximize the edge with other holding but I severly misplay my big pairs.

It's not a bad beat if I'm playing them wrong.

Once you put in $400 on the flop, the only mistake you can make in the rest of the hand is to fold for your last $250. Your decision was made on the flop, the rest of the cards and hand doesn't matter.

You need to ask yourself, was my flop play correct? The answer is yes, so you played it fine.
