Default Life imitates Humor

I always enjoy the Onion because even in its most absurd articles there are grains of truth. I didn't realize they were in the future prediction business as well.

CNN Money article today on Gilette's new razor

Onion article on same topic from a while ago

This is brilliant:
[ QUOTE ]
Would someone tell me how this happened? We were the [censored] vanguard of shaving in this country. The Gillette Mach3 was the razor to own. Then the other guy came out with a three-blade razor. Were we scared? Hell, no. Because we hit back with a little thing called the Mach3Turbo. That's three blades and an aloe strip. For moisture. But you know what happened next? Shut up, I'm telling you what happened—the bastards went to four blades. Now we're standing around with our cocks in our hands, selling three blades and a strip. Moisture or no, suddenly we're the chumps. Well, [censored] it. We're going to five blades.

No, this is brilliant:
[ QUOTE ]
"The Schick launch has nothing to do with this, it's like comparing a Ferrari to a Volkswagen as far as we're concerned," Chairman, President and Chief Executive James Kilts, told Reuters.

The Onion could not have come up with something funnier.

Oh, nice! I did a one-month marketing study with this razor a while ago; I was wondering if it was ever going to come out.
