Default A.C. Showboat HOB Daily Tournaments

Has anybody played in one of these? I played in it yesterday morning, and it has a great structure. $40+10, 5000 chips to start, 20 minute blind levels, no antes (25-50 opening level). I was pretty impressed. Its a nice room.

Mods, this should probably be moved to B&M. Sorry about that.

Sam - no antes early or no antes ever? Don't think I've ever seen a live tourney without antes.

Ballys and Turning Stone don't have antes.

I checked their website. Two daily except Fridays and Saturdays. The rake is not bad, condsidering Taj usedto have 50+15.

The buyin is kind of low, but I will try these. I have only played in Harrahs tournaments and side events to major tournaments, because I find it hard to get a big advantage with the fast structures.

I played about a month ago. About 50 entrants for the Sunday morning (11am). Liked the structure. Ran smoothly. The one thing I questioned was when it got down to two tables (I was a railbird by then) one table had 5 players and the other had 7 for over half an hour. Shouldn't the tables have been evened out, or is that only online?

Relatively strong players except the guy who thought he heard "Call" and turned over his 53 on a AQJT5 board, only to be informed that it was raised to him. He thought for a while and still called. He busted out way too soon, I wanted his chips.

I'm pretty sure there was a Trout there, unless loudly exclaming "SHIP IT!" after winning a pot is normal.

No antes period. No rebuys/addons. 20 minute levels, 5K starting chips, blinds start at 25/50. I think this is a really great structure, since you get a lot of room to play early on.

There were 51 players at the Monday 11am tournament, and the woman in the cage remarked that it was a pretty good turnout for a Monday morning.

They did a pretty good job keeping the tables evened yesterday, so perhaps they have gotten better at running tournaments. I think this is probably the best low-limit NLHE tournament going in A.C. right now (I don't like re-buys/add-ons).

The structure is about the best in AC. Love the no ante. During the week they get about 30-40 players (of various ability) for the 11 AM. Nice room with great chairs. FYI you need a Showboat or Harrahs players card to sign up, one from the other Harrahs casinos (Ceasars or Ballys) won't do.
