Default Halloween Prank should I do this???

Monday is of course Halloween.
I have a new employee coming into work that day.
It was suggested to me I tell him to Dress up that day for the morning halloween party (which of course doesnt exist)
and bring a change of clothes as we were going to take him out for lunch.

I find it hysterical and want to do it, but others think its cruel.

Should I do this? Or will this lead to bad Karma?

Thoughts? Let's Discuss...

I think it's fine as you are at least effectivley getting him to bring normal clothes in too - and if you are reasonably sure he'll take it well (I wouldn't do this on a shy type, for example).

Very bad idea. You don't want to alienate a guy right off the bat.

as long as the general mood in the office is always going to be light and joking like that then you shouldnt have a problem.

If you don't know what type he is, definitely best not to.
