Where to play live near NYC

first time poster in this forum.

Was wondering what is a good place to play NL holdem in the 2-5 and maybe 5-10 range near NYC?

key requirement being abundance of fishy players.

the 5/10 is mostly not for me. I don't think I have roll for it but if game is really fishy I might take a stab.

where is turning stone?

AC seems the most likely place. where in AC is good? Taj?

No, he must mean Limit. Pretty much any 2/4 or 3/6 game on the weekend is going to be pretty fishy. When I first started playing in casinos (before I switched exclusively to NL), I played 2/4 at Bally's & the Tropicana, and 3/6 at the Taj Mahal. All games had a lot of calling, and were mostly passive.

No Limit games are less fishy. Most of them are pretty passive, though people play tightly (compared to limit), and you'll get the occasional player who is aggressive. I've played 1/2 at the Taj Mahal, Tropicana, and Showboat. Most of the games weren't bad at all, though I wouldn't say they were overly fishy (at least compared to comparable limits in Las Vegas). You do get people who make awful calls, and the games are definitely very beatable.

The last time I played at the Showboat on a Friday night, the game was a lot more fishy after 10 PM or so, when the club nearby let out, and some more intoxicated people were playing.

Almost all of the casinos who have 1-2 NL also have 2-5 games, though I am pretty sure that the Showboat only has 1-2. Also, I believe that Bally's Wild Wild West also has 1-3, instead of 1-2.

Trop has 1/2 ($300 max) and $2/$5 ($500 max). I think there also be a $5/$10 game at times though I have never inquired. The 1/2 and 2/5 games are plenty fishy.

The Borgata is nicer (and just as fishy), but I stay away because I don't like to wait 1 hr or more to play when I arrive in prime time.

House of Blues and Caesars have new rooms and I would expect they are as fishy as anywhere else in AC.
