Default Elmo in AC

I played in A.C. this past weekend and ran into a guy who goes by Elmo (not his real name). Has anyone played with him? He was clearly one of the best players at both the Trop and Borg 5/10 NLHE games. He had a great table image and was able to outplay just about everyone there. I managed to stay out of his way and just picked on the weaker players. Anyone have any stories about playing with Elmo?

I've played with PokerElmo or something like it on Stars several times. I thought he was a pretty good player. I always assumed it was the same guy who played the world series main event with the Elmo head.

Elmo from Stars and World Series is not the same Elmo this guy is talking about. Yes, the guy in AC is pretty solid.

I'm sure you're right. I'd think you had better info than me. Mine was just an educated guess.

I am very familiar with Elmo. Elmo has a very well rounded game in Limit, NL, and Stud and Stud8. He is actually a very exceptional Stud player. His clever play and tactful humor comes from his Yale education. I've met him in the Pink Game at the Trop about 4 years ago, and have played 10-20, 20-40 HE as well as 15-30 Stud at the taj w/ him.

He is a stand out guy who tells it how it is. If you are a strong player, don't teach to the fishes. I remember I laid down AA face up on a KK5 flop against a very unsophisticated straight up player and he didn't appreciate that.
"you start teaching these kids and fishes how to play and some of them might actually get a clue and learn to play better. You don't want players to get better, do you?"

Yes, it's part of their core curriculum.

What stood out to me is the way he can buddy up to the gambooooooolers at the table, and instill an "us vs. them" approach.
