Default The arc of the covenant on the History Channel.

Did anyone see this just now? This watered down real life version of Indiana Jones travels to the desert and the Middle East in search of the arc and finally ends up finding "the arc" in some Ethiopian villiage.

The villagers also claim that the ten commandments are housed within the arc.

So he gets to the building where the arc is supposed to be, but he can't go inside the fenced enclosure. There is only one keeper of the arc, some Levite priest and he is the only one "holy" enough to actually see it.

So this guy goes to all this trouble and he doesn't even seem to care that he can't go inside and see if an arc is really there. He just takes their word for it. And why wouldn't he? They have parades and torchlight ceremonies and elaborate rituals all day, everyday.

How can one deny the existence of an arc after witnessing so much pomp and pretense?

It was the most absurd thing I have ever seen.

You must have missed Geraldo’s special on the opening of Al Capone’s safe a few years back.

Is my attempted humor really that awful?

I got it, but I'm much more familiar with you than I assume he is.

Whew, that is a relief, Arty. You know, I am sure by now, that one can question one’s own sanity here at times. (No matter which side of a discussion one is on.)

Your shenanigans are not appreciated. This is a serious outrage.

How did you come up with "Arty" out of Aytumious?

I noticed where you did something similar in a thread a few days ago when you started referring to someone by three letters in the middle of his username.

Literary license is all. My writing skills are not much better than my humor. Aty is not bad either - like ‘at a girl or ‘at a boy. Go get ’em.

How ‘bout Tombster?

Used, just to be friendly.
