ronald is normally a 2000NL player and has been very very aggressive and loose. I've came over the top a few times and gotten him to fold. his hands could be anything on the flop and perhaps the turn.

that said how do you like the line?

just spewing?

Betting the river is spewing unless you have a GREAT read that you are ahead AND that your bet will induce a bluff raise which you will call. Otherwise, I'd rather check looking for a free showdown and making a read-based call or fold if he bets. With him, if he bets, I'm probably calling. He was playing insanely and would only probably bet this river as a bluff.

I was actually trying to get a fold. I thought I was behind on the river.

at first i was thinking that you're not representing anything feasible here. but upon further review, i like this line. i think that your hand range is pretty wide--an overpair, a straight, a set. however, i don't like your bet on the river b/c based on your comments, you think that your opponent can have anything here. i don't like to bluff someone unless i can define his hand range. also, i feel like your 55 dollar bet doesn't seem like a value bet. when you hit big hands, in general, what fraction of the pot did you bet for value?

when you made this river bet, what were you hoping to get him to lay down?

when I hit big hands I've been betting 3/4 to pot.

I'm not going to do the "guess his hand" since its not very educational.

I'll wait for a few more responces before I give the results.

well his line is just so strange...but if i were in your position it looks to me that he has an overpair, and i'd think he'd lay that down based on my action on a board like that. (thus i like the river bet)

i wouldn't put him on a flush draw, so the diamond wouldn't concern me.

after seeing the river push, J9 seems like the only thing that makes sense to me.

alright, don't think I'll get anymore responces so time for results.

he shows K4 and my 55 would have been good.

I don't know if he had read on me or whether he was just donating as this is very much below his level.

woah, i don't understand his line at all for a bluff like that. you had good odds to call that...i really don't understand his play unless he had you on a pure bluff? why wouldn't he take it away on the turn? i don't get it.
