amoeba stops being weak tight

party 100NL.
all relevant stacks at $110 or so.

want to stop at certain point in the hand. not too good with hand converter.

Amoeba in SB with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

folded to button who limps.

amoeba raises to $5, BB folds, Villain on button calls $5.

Flop ($10) 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

amoeba bets $10, Villain raises to $30, I push.

good or bad?

should this be a routine fold?

villain calls preflop a bit much but isn't too out of line post flop. capable of semibluffing.

I thought QQ and TT are not possible here.

88 is unlikely but possible.

I really thought this was A spades or maybe top two, leaning more towards the A.

thought I had some fold equity.

but yeah looking back I think I should have folded.

i don't hate your logic on this hand. a few things though, u need the nut draw to do this and on these monotone boards i find it harder to semi-bluff.

hmm, I didn't even think about the made nut flush.

still, I don't think he raises so much with that hand there.

but yeah, I definitely should have had nut draw with this play.

yeah man i meant the nut draw, not the nuts. i would consider the push if i had the A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

It's ok with As, without, Zorro thinks it's borderline -EV.

yeah I guess I wnated to try something different.
normally I fold here.

anyways, villain thought for long time and then called with AT with As.

no suckout for me and thats all she wrote.

havent read results yet, but i will tell u my experience. first, his move often times is the A and after u push he probably thinks he is committed with the nut draw. second, although i am guilty this, pushing draws in SSNL is practically worthless if not chip spewing. there are two major advantages to pushing a draw. One, it allows u to play a flopped monster much faster. Two, it gives the opponnent a chance to fold a hand u beat. The latter is a rare occurrence in SSNL. The former is moot b/c these cats arent paying attetnion to what u are doing, they are looking at thier hand and saying "i dus mayd twip queens on the tern der" or whatever. the point is the disadvantages outweigh the advantages IMO.

having said that i just lost 100 BB pushing top pair flush draw....yes i was a slight fav. to what i knew was AA, but he doesnt fold so why did i do that when i can either take the odds offered or wait for a spot where he will put the money in as a substantial dog. just my thoguts.
