TruePoker.Only a couple of games at each level weak-passive. I just saw a hand where both AA and KK limped preflop unlike Party where 83o will cap preflop and the flop come 883.

The bonus is not great, but it seem a nice peaciful site.

I too vote for Party...the beginner tables are very LPP and a great place to start.

A relative of mine wants to start playing online poker recreationally at limits of .50/1 and 1/2. He wants me to recommend a site for him, but I haven't played those limits in so long that I'm not sure which site would be best for him. Below are the criteria (in no order) that he needs from a poker site.

1) The games at those limits must be soft enough so that a very tight, yet unskilled player can still expect to turn a profit.
2) The rake must not be prohibitive
3) Software and customer support must be decent, but they don't have to be the best.
4) There must be enough traffic, especially at peak hours and on weekends, so that he'll be able to find games to play
5) The software must not have easily accessible -EV casino games, side bets, or sportsbooks that might tempt him.

I'm thinking either Stars or UB would work, but I'm not sure about the game quality there. Anyone else have suggestions on what site might be good for my relative?

Thanks in advance...

I say Paradise. At the moment the tables are so terribly loose with all those sportsbook players coming in that a tight player will certainly make a profit there.

Of course Party Poker will work just fine too but Paradise has just less bonusgrinders and it shows, even at 0,50/1,-

I've started three guys up in poker and all three of them I've parked in Paradise first before starting up the whole bankroll building through bonii. I also give them a starting hand chart (SSHE's chart) and tell them to follow that exactly, after that they're on their own for a while (after an hour of coaching and a bit of theory). After that I lend them SSHE, if they read it I give them further advice and they can borrow my other books one by one, if they don't I tell them they will lose all their money and should not redeposit after they've lost their initial deposit.

I don't know how your friends financial situation is but the last one I got playing didn't have to funds to deposit the 200$ for the bonus at Paradise so I've given him 20$ and told him to play the lowest level (I think 0,02/0,04) until he had an X amount profit and then move up. He's up to the 0,10/0,20 now after a couple of weeks of play and he's enjoying it bigtime.

Yes, the partypoker beginner's tables. You can play there your first 45 days only, which means the tables have actual beginners in them, bad loose players.
