I Just Got Screwed In A Tournament (low content lots of rant)

I was playing in a tournament tonight w/ a $50 buy in and 1 $30 re-buy(I think over 60% rebought).Started w/about 200 players each getting 30k in chips.After a few hours we get down to the final 10 tables.I am at one of the final 10 tables w/ 330,000 in chips there is 1 guy who has 2,000 in chips and another guy who has 335,000 in chips(me and him were the chip leaders in the tourney).We are in the middle of a hand,I am in the big blind w/8,9o.Board flops 8,2,2 and I go all in.As soon as I go all-in the tourney announcer comes on the mike and says this will be the last hand and whoever has the chip lead after this hand at each table goes to the final table.The guy who has 5,000 more chips than me asks the dealer to clarify what the announcer just said.After the dealer does so the guy knows he has 5,000 more chips than me folds putting him in the final table w/637,000 in chips and I get THE SHAFT.Ever heard of anything like that happening? Are you serious? You have to clarify something here... Why the eff did they start the final table when there were still 10 tables left???

what a silly tourney. If you knew this was going to happen, you should have been playing this hand slower. But sorry it happened. I hate gimmicky tournies like this.

We started w/27 tables(8 on each table) then went to 10 tables then it went to the "final" table.Sorry for the mixup.

Holy fuck. A part of my soul died when I read this. That's just horrible, tough break.

Edit: unless you somehow could have known before buying in that this was going to happen, in which case bad move buying into this.

Thanks for "feeling my pain".Even the guy who went to the final table apologized and said that wasn't fair(I didn't blame him at all - I would have done the same thing in his shoes).No, I had no idea this was going to happen, if so I would have stayed home and played online [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img].
