Default Q9o in Big Blind...

This has probably been addressed before but....

Do you call a raise in the BB with Q9o? I recall S&M advocating calling with hands that can win in 2 ways. This hand has a big card, and concievably straight potential. But it feels wrong to call with this hand. Opinions?

What about QT? QJ?

Depends where the raise came from and who did it. Muck all those hands to an early raise especially if it's a legitimate raiser. They are dominated and oh so treachurous.

I'll usually see the flop with QJ or QT, Q9 depends on the raiser and their position.

As said, this depends on the psoition of the raiser, the skills of the raiser and the number of others along for the ride. I fold Q9o. I will call with QJo with another caller against a legitimite raise but fold QTo most of the time.

Sklansky was refering to whether to call a suspected steal. If the raise came from an aggressive player on the button, cutoff, or especially the SB, I would call. Anywhere else and I'd fold (especially if there were cold-callers).
