Q9o in Big Blind...
This has probably been addressed before but....
Do you call a raise in the BB with Q9o? I recall S&M advocating calling with hands that can win in 2 ways. This hand has a big card, and concievably straight potential. But it feels wrong to call with this hand. Opinions? What about QT? QJ? |

Re: Q9o in Big Blind...
Depends where the raise came from and who did it. Muck all those hands to an early raise especially if it's a legitimate raiser. They are dominated and oh so treachurous.

Re: Q9o in Big Blind...
I'll usually see the flop with QJ or QT, Q9 depends on the raiser and their position.

Re: Q9o in Big Blind...
As said, this depends on the psoition of the raiser, the skills of the raiser and the number of others along for the ride. I fold Q9o. I will call with QJo with another caller against a legitimite raise but fold QTo most of the time.

Re: Q9o in Big Blind...
Sklansky was refering to whether to call a suspected steal. If the raise came from an aggressive player on the button, cutoff, or especially the SB, I would call. Anywhere else and I'd fold (especially if there were cold-callers).
